Adam was somewhat bemused to note from The Hive, that his little blog cannot be read or only with difficulty in China.

He does not know whether to take this as a badge of honour or to be disappointed.

Adam is not entirely surprised as he has posted consistently on the Tibetan issue.

Yet at the same time has has argued for better treatment for the Air New Zealand Chinese cabin crew – maybe that is why.

Adam is also a strong proponent of the NZ China FTA and has never thought it should be stopped or delayed because of Tibet.

He has philosophical objections to the Olympics in general, but is not against them being in China, his issues are with the IOC and their ilk.

Further, given that Adam worked in Asia and has many Chinese friends, he likes their food, culture and admires their industry and entrepreneurship. Additionally, for many years he employed staff of Chinese ethnicity both in NZ and Australia. Indeed, he wishes more Westerners possessed those same skills and the drive for success.

So he wishes China well. However, as a friend and indeed admirer of many things Chinese, he considers it not inappropriate to suggest different approaches may be in order from time to time.
