Additional input on inflation and New Zealand

Yesterday I posted a item on inflation rates, referenced to an Economist article. I noted some questions that had come to mind at the end of the post.

As yet am not sure that I have got the answers, but came across this opinion piece by Bernard Hickey at interest.co.nz. [Hat Tip:kiwiblog], which together with the comments, by others, on the post by Bernard Hickey has helped my understanding of some of the issues.
