‘Gummint’ and Adam’s meat-pie

When he flew to Australia last Friday on Air NZ the flight and service were really quite acceptable.

One thing did amuse Adam though and that was the meal service.

Why, well one of the choices was a meat pie with pasta sald, followed by a piece of cake/sponge with a sweet filling.

Adam thought it was rather ironic that the state owned airline was not following the ‘gummint’ line on good nutrition.

Now he knows that ostensibly Air NZ operates as a commercial entity, but in reality as we have seen in the past the ‘gummint’ takes a close interest in what the company does.

So Adam was amused to see that as yet the dead hand of state control had not yet reached into the bowels of the airline’s catering department.

So Adam enjoyed the ‘gummint’ authorised meat-pie.
