Another new blog appears. Or is it?
Adam’s curiosity was whetted by a comment at the end of the ‘political’ segment on TVNZ One News last night, when Barbie Wendy Petrie mentioned that for more in-depth analysis read Guyon Espiner’s blog at the TVNZ news site.
Last night Adam had other matters to attend to, but this morning when the Glenn letter broke, he thought that he would visit the TVNZ site, once there Adam decided to look for G. Espiner’s blog.
Well there is a ‘blog’ and here is the link. It had at the time of visiting 2 entries, first one 26 August 2008. Well in fact it is not a link to the ‘blog’, because there does not appear to be a blog as such. The link is to what is described as the Guyon Espiner blog archive.
If you look on the site proper the item is under the heading analysis, so are these items ‘blog posts’ which many would presume Duncan Garner’s or Colin Espiner’s are, or merely a news item under another name.
Whether you consider it a blog like Colin Espiner’s or Duncan Garner’s is up to you.
Personally, Adam is of the view that G. Espiner’s blog is yet another example of how TVNZ does not really get the internet. The lack of a comments option is a major shortcoming in Adam’s mind.
You be the judge.
Somehow, Adam does not see this ‘blog’ providing any competition for Duncan, Colin or Chris Trotter, in it’s current form.
All these journos blogging will give a respectable hobby a bad name.
