The Times has a good profile of The Divine Miss M. The great Bette Midler. I remember buying that first album of hers, The Divine Miss M. Great voice, great songs. I was looking for a video of Miss M, singing Delta Dawn, one of my all time favourites, but could not find one, so settled for this instead, the great ‘Do You Want to Dance.

Although I long ago pensioned off the vinyl, it got damaged, I replaced it with a CD. Other songs on that album included Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy and Friends. Ms Midler won a Grammy for the album.

Have lost count of how many times I have listened to this album over the years. They do not make singers like her any more.

I agree, but why no video of Delta Dawn?

This woman can take ANY song & make it her own – a true gift. So Divine, so Bette Midler, so perfect!!

MMmmnnnnn… The Devine Miss M. Her voice is unparalleled in the warmth and sexuality that it exudes. On top of that she can also sing.
