Heard this morning on Radio New Zealand National. Music reviewer commenting on a new album by a former member of Split ENZ. He, the reviewer, said Judd, the singer/songwriter, is the most unique of New Zealand’s songwriters.
Most unique. Unique means one of a kind. You cannot be the most unique. It is not possible. Unique is not a collective. Unique is ‘one off’, the only one.
Why do people insist on adding qualifiers to this word.
