Phil’s Gaffes #5
Phil GaffeGoff has been at it again. This quote from the NZ Herald relates what Mr Goff said on Morning Report:-
“They (directorships) should have been resigned immediately. He would have been briefed as soon as he became minister,” Mr Goff told Radio New Zealand.
“I think that if you breach the cabinet manual in terms of conflict of interest, you’re gone.
“That was certainly the way (former prime minister) Helen Clark ran (things) and I would, too.”
Goff was talking about Richard Worth.
Yet all last year we had Helen Clark and Phil Goff defending Winston Peters. So Peters whose sins appear to have been greater than Worth’s was OK. Super Helen, the GLNZ, did not discipline Winston for his breaches.
Take your foot out of your mouth Phil.
Note: Adam knows that Phil has made more than 5 gaffes, but this one seemed more worthy
of posting on.

It must be deeply sub-conscious, but almost every time I type Phil’s surname, I type double-o instead of double-f – Phil Goof. It seems fitting
Nah, it is just their usual double standard. OK when their side does it, venal and corrupt if anybody else does it.
After Phil Goff spoke in favour of the EFA and then said it was wrong.
Two faced in my view, with forked tongues.
Phil has obviously forgotten (or chosen to ignore) Shane Jones, who double-dipped for some 18 months after coming into Parliament.
