Mahmoud Ahmadinejad

April 21, 2009

Given the prominence in the news today of comments by the Iranian president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, this lengthy article on Ahmadinejad and Iran from the New Yorker written by Jon Lee Anderson is well worth reading.

This very interesting article including the early life of Ahmadinejad, and the insight into modern day Iran, certainly gives a perspective of why the apocalyptic messianic Islamist Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is referred to as the butcher of Iranian human rights, promoter of genocide and now a vile speech maker at the UN Conference on Racism in Geneva.

Also, some U.N. officials at this week’s conference in Geneva have demonstrated that they do truly live in a cocoon of unreality when UN spokeswoman Marie Heuzé, setting the tone for the Durban II meeting now taking place in Geneva, expressed with such conciliatory assurance last week prior to the UN Conference on Racism:

“Hate speech and ethnic insults will be barred at next week’s United Nations conference on fighting racism and intolerance,” Heuzé said on Wednesday. “Definitely we will not allow what happened in Durban to happen here”.

With friends like this who needs enimies!
