Paula Bennett-accident prone?
Trans-Tasman comments on the Rankin scenario. TT speculates that Paul Bennett was warned not to appoint Rankin, but ignored the advice. TT further comments that the Government appeared to have it’s political antennae switched off.
How much latitude is Key going to allow Bennett?
This is not the first time Bennett has caused difficulties for Key.
By Adam’s count this is at least the third time. Fourth if you count the unflattering comments by Grey Power.
Now if Key cans Bennett then his judgment in appointing her looks poor. Yet he needs to do something to rein Bennett in and ensure she takes advice.
Paula Bennett appears to be more ‘accident prone’ than she should be. For a minister in charge of a large spending department that is not good.

I don’t agree that Paula is accident prone. The way I see it we may finally have an advocate for families at the commission now. I have always been a fan of Rankin’s straight talking and now hope she will bring some much needed focus to this organisation.
That or maybe hasten its distruction.
Personally I think the organization is a complete waste of space. It and many other quangos should be consigned to the wastebin.
Unfortunately I do think Paula Bennett is accident prone. She has tended to attract comment for all the wrong reasons.
