On a cherished watering hole closing

May 30, 2009

Derek Brown writes an enjoyable piece, in The Atlantic, on the pangs suffered when a favourite bar closes or the character is materially altered.

Adam empathises. He knows the feeling when a favourite watering hole closes, or worse still in some ways undergoes a make-over. Sadly far too many bars suffer this fate.

So raise a glass, either mentally or in actuality, to bars you have known as they were in their heyday and long may they remain so,even if only in memory.
