Heads in the sand

The Listener for June 6-12 carries a lengthy article on NZ, ‘Head in the sand’, and it’s strategic position by Joanne Black. The article gives considerable prominence to the views of US forecaster George Friedman and makes the point that NZ tends to think that it can rely for long term security on the goodwill of the US. Friedman suggests that is a fallacy.
