    This last week there has been some comment regarding National Anthems.
    Here is a rendition of God Defend New Zealand. Not exactly stirring. Small wonder the All Blacks do not use it to fire up their spirits.

        Homepaddock is absolutely correct. Upping the tempo makes a huge difference.

        Whenever the NZ Anthem is played at the Olympics it makes me feel quite emotional.

        Sung/played at that speed makes it sound like a dirge, upping the tempo makes a big improvement.

        Hate to say it but compared to the French anthem, the N Z one is dead boring
