Just watched this TV programme on UKTV featuring Ainsley Herriott, well worth the view.
Adam is trying to work out how to trace his French and Irish ancestry.
He thinks the French may well be the most difficult as the contact is his maternal grandmother whose parents were French.
Help and advice much appreciated.

Wouldn’t you want to hide that connection, but I suppose it could be worse, you could be part Irish (/joke, just in case you take it seriously). I know I am around 50% Scottish, 25% Irish (or possibly anglo-irish) and 25% Anglo-Welsh, and how French or anywhere else comes into it I’m not sure. And that is 50% via Australia anyway. Unfortunately I don’t know where to go to look up French records, unless the embassy might be able to direct you ? Just don’t mention anything about Rugby, beatings, and Wellington.
