Quotation for Today, Friday July 3

July 3, 2009

Lockwood Smith is the best thing to happen to Opposition parties since Question Time was invented. He is easily the most fair, unbiased, and straightforward Speaker Parliament has had in years.

Colin Espiner in his blog at Stuff. Of course Trevor Mallard does not like Smith, as the rest of Espiner’s post dealt with Mallrd’s antics.

    I could not agree more.

Lockwood Smith as Speaker is the best thing that could have happened to National. While it may have surprised and upset some National MPs that their Ministers would actually have to answer questions, in fact the practice has branded National and its partners as statesmanlike governors and cemented Labour as the party of shirkers and liars. Mallard id the nasal squeaky gift which never ceases to give.
