Palin resigns as Alaska Governor
Sarah Palin has resigned as Governor of Alaska with no substantive indication of what she plans for the future. Interetingly she still had 2 years to serve as Governor.
Fred Malek, a Republican strategist who has advised Palin over the past year, said Palin was “really unhappy with the way her life was going”.
“She felt that the pressures of the job combined with her family obligations and the demands and desires to help other Republican candidates led her to decide not to run again. Once that decision was made, she realised, why not do it now and let the lieutenant governor take over and get a head start on his election,” Malek said.
Adam suspects Palin will try for the Presidency in 2012.

Palin has not got a chance. The MSM will go to the ends of the earth (and even to Kenya) to discredit her, as she presents the only viable challenge to their annointed one. Their lack of vigour in uncovering Bambi’s skeletons will be more than compensated for in their quest to destroy a ‘true’ American.
Like her or not, she’s got true star power for the Republicans, and her gaffes are less numerous than Obama’s (which are are better camouflaged).
Since the election she’s disposed of 13 ethics violations with one pending, and I’d say she’s getting poorer without the fun.
My guess is she’s going to hit the celeb circuit, become a drawcard for the “tea parties” going on in nearly every state and work for Republicans she likes in the House elections next year. Along the way I’d say she’ll rebuild her finances and start a war chest for a run in 2012.
Sure she’s weak in a number of areas, but she can’t improve them much stuck in Alaska.. and the trick in US presidential races is personal and message development as you go along.. so move now.
The Republicans really have little going for them now, no charismatic figure to coalesce around, a mixed message and potential candidates not looking flash. Mark Sanford is gone with his scandal, Bobby Jandel perhaps looking at 2016.
Mit Romney is ultra competent but doesn’t have the star power and Tim Pawlenty is just getting started..
Palin can change that situation on the broad scale, and look pretty good at the personal level. A change agent if ever I saw one.. with or without a presidential run.
