Obama’s Job Approval Rating in Steep Decline

Adam’s recently commented on the Washington Post – ABC News poll ratings for Barack Obama. We now have the most recent Pew Research Center polls across a variety of issues. Pew reinforces the earlier poll. These results will not make great reading for Obama and his advisors, as this image shows:-

Note the growing levels of disapproval. Look especially at the ratings on the Economy and the Budget deficit.

Probably not surprising when you consider the recent comment by David Brooks in the New York Times,which Adam commented on:-

This President is not leading, in consequence he is failing, for example as Brooks notes on the stimulus package ’so called’ which was stuffed full of Democratic pork:-

You would have thought that a stimulus package would be designed to fight unemployment and stimulate the economy during a recession. But Congressional Democrats used it as a pretext to pay for $787 billion worth of pet programs with borrowed money. Only 11 percent of the money will be spent by the end of the fiscal year — a triumph of ideology over pragmatism.

Then we have the poll by Pew on the Gates affair:-

The analysis accompanying the graphs make for interesting reading. Yet 71% of respondents either disapproved or didn’t know. not a ringing endorsement.

The poll result would seem to support the comment Adam made here as to a lack of judgment by Obama on this issue.
