Harawira’s racist remarks

2009 November 6

Adam supposed it was only a matter of time, but the outburst by Hone Harawira as reported in the NZ Herald goes a long way to generate very negative views of the Maori Party. It will do nothing to help their case regarding the repeal of the foreshore and seabed legislation. In addition, it will probably cause many to wonder whether Hone, with what appears to be a nasty streak of racism in his remarks, represents the true aspirations of the Maori Party – i.e. the establishment of race privilege for Maori.

John Key has labelled the remarks as ‘deeply offensive’ and called for the Maori Party to discipline Harawira. Personally, Adam thinks he should be kicked out of Parliament for promoting race hatred and for his complete lack of any understanding of what is appropriate behaviour.

No doubt if Harawira was a Pakeha, Maori led by Harawira and his ilk would be demanding court action, fines and imprisonment.

With attitudes such as those he has demonstrated Harawira should be cast out of the Maori Party, but no doubt all that will happen is that Pita Sharples will slap him on the wrist with a wet bus ticket.

Adam finds it hard to believe that Harawira’s statements can be construed as being in the nature of ‘mana enhancing’.

No doubt Mrs Turia will recognise the immense damage Harawira has done to the Maori Party and Maoridom.

It is hard to avoid coming to the conclusion based on the reports of Harawira’s remarks that he is not some kind of racist.

Yet Adam will not hold his breath to see if Joris de Bres condemns Harawira for these remarks.

I been away for a few years and my predictions are now starting to come true. The devisive comments made by Hone Hawera just go to show that you cannot trust the Brown Race. His comments show his true colours which obviously are “special rights and privelidges” for the “indigenous people” ha thats a joke I probably have more Maori blood in me than Hone and I’m a 5th generation European New Zealander and proud of it. Hone should thank his God and especially the European settlers of this land for without their timely arrival the “Indigenous People” of this country, who were at the time beginning to practise cannablism due to their lack of knowledge of sustainable farming, would have starved to death.Hone needs to thank us not abuse us as were it not for our ancesters the Maori race would be extinct just like the Moa. Oh by the way how much Maori blood do you need to claim to be a Maori? Answer: Who cares, why would you want to be associated with that lot.
Nelso Mandella said when he took back control of South Africa (Ha Ha now a large number of the “indigenous people” there are starving” that it would take 200 years of evolution before the Black Sth African could successfully run their country – a slow process of evolution.
Oh well I suppose that the next 5 generations of European Settlers decendants will have to continue to pay for the pleasure of keeping the “Indigenous Maori people of New Zealand alive. Footnote to self: Leave the country before the lights are turned off.

He must be treated exactly as a white Kiwi would be treated were the roles reversed. Otherwise, we have apartheid in this country.
    Oh, hang on……
