Sea Shepherd prats

January 9, 2010

“We came down here looking for a fight. I expected them to retaliate but I didn’t expect them to sink our ship. There is no question they steered directly at us.”

Captain of the Ady Gil

Given the mindset demonstrated by Bethune of the Ady Gil and Watson of Sea Shepherd it is clear they want trouble, it feeds their egos and helps them raise funds.

In fact Adam questions whether Watson really wants to stop Japanese whaling, after all if the Japanese stopped what would Watson do?

Adam suspects that the Japanese might find it easier to stop or reduce whaling if they were not targetted by protesters such as Watson. The protesters cause the Japanese to react badly and see the issue as one of face, rather than behaving rationally.

Roarprawn has covered the issue several times as here and here.

The Prayer of the Sea Shepherd Faithful

    I love Sea Shepherd.

I love the way Paul Watson changes his conservation goals every year.

I love the way Paul Watson faked being shot in the chest.

I love the way Paul Watson has become a dancing eco-patsy to Discovery Networks.

I love the way Paul Watson lies about everything he bloviates on about.

I love the way Paul Watson and Sea Shepherd have destroyed the concept of conservation and replaced it with a hyper inflated media machine that spits out often inane talking points based on their latest stunt work with whalers.

Yes I love Sea Shepherd, and will continue to donate my hard earned dollars for many more years of the same useless efforts producing shady statistics about the numbers of animals saved.

God bless them, each and every one.

Surely Watson and Bethune must be your `losers of the week’!!

Yes, It does not seem to occur to these idiots that “We came here looking for a fight” is a wildly inappropriate phrase for someone sailing in antarctic waters, one of the most hostile environments on the planet.

I2 is right. Not only do they have a pirate logo, but Watson, the captain of the Bob Barker, claims to have actually sunk 8 japanese whalers. That makes them pirates in my book. Although I do not hold with the deliberate sinking of their boat (if it was deliberate), I can’t help feeling the outcome was appropriate.

Suggestions that Sea Shepherd are eco-terrorists and pirates grow when one sees the Sea Shepherd logo on their Facebook page …
