Indisputably The Greens. St Jeanette retires, to be replaced by activist Gareth Hughes. Former protester at Happy Valley and elsewhere. So the conversion of The Green from an environmentalist party to a hard left party is complete. Yet so many people are still deluded enough to think the Greens are all about the environment.

As I’ve commented elsewhere the greens are on their way to the farthest reaches of outer purgatory.
Indeed Adam – and now it seems that Sue Kedgely will leave at the end of this term – that leaves a party headed by Norman (socialist), Turei (anarchist), Locke (communist and fan of Pol Pot) and Delahunty (Marxist and raving looney).
It hardly fills one with confidence. I suspect that the Greens are going to have a very hard job crossing the threshhold next year, and that they will follow Winston into the annals of history and obscurity. Perhaps then MMP won’t look so bad.
