In the annual Cudlipp lecture, Alan Rusbridger has hit out at the concept of paywalls such as that promoted by Rupert Murdoch, Barry Colman in NZ at NBR and most recently the New York Times.
This article at The Guardian refers. The video and entire column are worth looking at. A few well deserved swipes are made at Murdoch, especially as Murdoch is some what hypocritical in his stance on this issue.
