An hotel that understands
February 25, 2010
In Palmerston North for a night, staying at the Coachman in a very pleasant room and we had a very satisfactory meal with decent wine, at a reasonable price.
Whole stay even better, because this hotel realises that guests need internet access and that the access should be free (ie built into the room rate and not an expensive extra) Most NZ hotels could learn from this.
Plus the bar serves Tiger beer.

But but… wait a minute. Isn’t this blog supposed to have a good regard for economics?
I thought user pays was a pretty core principle of economics. For a hotel to provide free internet access when not everyone will use it just means that non-internet users subsidise internet users. How does that increase social welfare and maximise efficient allocation of resources??
Tiger Beer is nearly as good as Fiji Bitter isn’t it Adam.
