Adam’s Winner of the Week

March 27, 2010

Well now a surprise winner this week.

Adam has chosen Mary Anne Thompson as winner of the week. The former high flying civil servant was this week sentenced for obtaining important government jobs with the aid of a false CV. Ms Thompson was a former Immigration head.

Now Canadian John Davy who used a false CV to be appointed CEO of Maori TV received 8 months jail time.

Ms Thompson gets a fine of $10,000 and 100 hours community service, in addition she faced only one charge in the end, others were dropped. Lucky, eh! Ms Thompson certainly won out. Adam wonders how others would have fared. Justice is blind??

A point for Adam to ponder; who was the State Services Minister circa 2003-2005?

If we were to tell Adam that it was Trevor Mallard, would that make the fish smell even more pungent?

      Well now,

It it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, walks like a duck

      What is it?

We guess that the only is answer is this: a duck, with some history of bullying public servants :-)

What does Adam think about today’s revelations that the State Services Commissioner knew about the dodgy doctorate six years ago, but shut down any inquiry? Does Adam share our opinion that the former PM might be capable of orchestrating such a thing?

To quote:- ‘You might very well think that, but I couldn’t possibly comment’

However, stand by for another post when I have some time to reflect further, as I think I smell stinking fish
