Eating in Auckland – try this

March 27, 2010

In Auckland all this past week. Stayed at the City LIfe Hotel, really quite comfortable, but not as convenient for work as I would have liked.

The bonus though was the BBQ King restaurant in the same street.

This place Adam had passed several times before, but had not eaten at.

This time he ventured in. Great food, try the ‘Hot & Sour’ soup at NZ$6 a bowl, yet a serving dwarfing those at many other places. The taste was great.

Then the Crispy Roast Pork on rice, again really good. Not only that another generous portion.

Little ambience other than it is full of Chinese enjoying their food. Varied menu, Adam will try other dishes on future visits.

They have a branch in Customs St, which is apparently good as well and favoured by cab drivers of varied ethnicity, usually a good sign.

Value – Excellent

Food – Good to Excellent

Recommended – Highly
