Adam’s Winner of the Week
Now it would be easy to award the gong to Maori Party re the DRIP. yet on consideration Adam has come to the conclusion that the real winner is John Key and down the track NZ as a whole.
Whilst unsure in some respects as to how affirming the DRIP will work out, the more Adam has thought about the issue, he has come to the conclusion that affirmation was inevitable and that Key has done a lot to make National much more acceptable to Maori through recognizing that fact.
Let us not lose sight also of the fact that Maori are an increasingly major economic force. For example the SST suggests today that Tuhoe may be a runner to purchase the Crafar farms. As their economic position improves it is probable that political allegiances will change as well. A factor that Key is well aware of.
Therefore, overall Adam declares John Key Winner of the Week
