Pubs I have known #17 – Galbraiths Alehouse Auckland

Galbraiths is a great pub to my mind. Mrs Smith and I went there regularly until we moved to Wellington and then visited on occasion when we were in Auckland.

Good booze, good food and good atomosphere.

Have not been for a while, but hopefully Auckland readers will confirm that it is still worth frequenting.

Have not found a Wellington equivalent, any suggestions!

Incidentally the fact that it is not a booze barn, full of pokies and it serves good food and beer suggests that if the place is well run, then alcohol carnage does not ensue despite what the wowsers wish to believe.
