“Labour’s scheme to zero rate fresh fruit and vegetables is the first of the policies we will announce over coming months to help families get ahead and to build a stronger economy,” Goff said.
“Removing GST from fresh fruit and vegetables will help people on low and middle incomes make up some of the ground they are losing under National.”
The irrelevance formerly known as Phil Goff, quoted in NZ Herald.
Adam asks?
Why not on tinned fruit & vegetables?
Why not on meat & fish?
Why not on frozen vegetables?
Will this apply to the element of a meal containing fresh fruit & vegetables?
Will it apply to imported fruit & vegetables, such as pineapple, or oranges etc etc? If so why?
What will be the costs of administering this change, at government level and in the changes to pricing systems in businesses?
How does this change build a stronger economy?
How does this enable families to get ahead?
Why does this change favour vegetarians?
