Official – Maori leader says Hone racist
Driving home this afternoon, Adam was listening to Radio Left Wing, yes it is awful but alternatives worse. There was a political round-up item. In this item Tariana Turia condemned Hilary Calvert, a silly ACT MP, for some comments she made.
The key comment though was this one by Mrs Turia – who said’ that anyone making denigrating comments about another person’s race was a racist’ or words to that effect.
Consequently, Adam believes that Mrs Turia, if not the rest of the Maori Party, must consider Hone Harwira a racist. After all, Harawira is on record for many denigrating comments about white people. Therefore, Maori leader says Hone racist is a valid inference.
If Mrs Turia does not consider Hone a racist, in the light of her reported comments, but does consider Ms Calvert one, then several thoghts re Ms Turia, come to mind:-
- hypocrisy
- double standards
No doubt some weasel words will emerge, after all Joris de Bres did not consider Hone’s many remarks denigrating white people racist. He as Race Relations Commissioner must know. In that case if he agrees with ms Turia re Ms Calvert will he prosecute Calvert?
If he does, will he then prosecute Hone?
Or will he again apply his usual double standards and hypocrisy?
