Public hypocrisy

December 10, 2012

Why is it that when Paul Henry belittled Susan Boyle and called her a retard we were all offended at his ‘prank’, including many in the media commentariat, but rush to defend two very silly Australian DJs and their employers for an offensive ‘prank’ which bears more than a passing relationship to bullying and certainly lacks any humour.

Is it because in the second instance we regard making fun of Kate Middleton and her condition, potentially very serious for her and her unborn child, is seen as somehow fair game, but Susan Boyle is not?

Adam finds the collective public hypocrisy on this matter disturbing and the media attitude by so many as downright deplorable and two-faced.

It IS appalling and equates to ‘mob mentality’.

To me it’s simple. Both are equally obnoxious. Or if we’re talking about people, all three are equally obnoxious.

      Bill

I agree, but the ability of so many to defend these 2 Australians appalls me
