Petone – a foodie haven?

July 18, 2013

The other day was the first time Adam realised just what a foodie haven Petone and Lower Hutt has become. There is La Bella Italia, Spice Rack, On Trays, Davis, The British Shop, The Dutch Shop all of which are  in Petone.

Then in Lower Hutt there is  Yan’s Chinese Supermarket (opposite Park ‘n Save Lower Hutt, Mediterranean Food Warehouse (branch) with eat in cafe, Park Avenue Meat (829 High Street) with excellent continental small goods, plus great butchery. Not to forget the superb Taste of Europe bakery in the Fairfield shops.

Yan’s also does excellent Chinese takeaway.

No doubt there are other places of note as well.

Truly we are blessed as there are several independent  butchers and fishmongers as well; plus the great Riverbank market on Saturday mornings with meat and produce.
