New Yorker - Obama Cartoon Cover

That New Yorker cover continues to provoke comment. Jon Stewart, The Daily Show takes a satirical look. He skewers the media in their own words.

(Hat Tip: Jake Tapper – Political Punch )

Stewart suggests that the more appropriate response from Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois — rather than being offended (or saying the cover “fueled some misconceptions about me,” as he did on CNN last night) — would be to have said “Barack Obama is in no way upset about the cartoon that depicts him as a Muslim extremist. Because you know who gets upset about cartoons? Muslim extremists! Of which Barack Obama is not. It’s just a f—ing cartoon!”

Yes, except that 12% of Americans reportedly think that Obama’s a Muslim, thanks to the arms length dirty campaign run by the right on blogs and the like.

So, what do you do when you face that sort of campaign, and there are so many susceptible people, and you don’t want to finish up like John Kerry?
