Shearer promises repeal of GCSB law

July 26, 2013

David Shearer makes repeal of GCSB legislation one of his party’s highest priorities should it win 2014 election:-

“That would be one of the first things we got off the ground.”

So Shearer continues to play politics with security issues. Yet it was legislation put in place by the previous Labour administration which has caused the problem.

Why this issue should be Labour’s immediate priority is beyond Adam’s ken, unless it is one of the few things Shearer and his party actually agree on!

Yet it is an issue which is essentially a beltway one and which really pales into insignificance for many when looked against the background of daily life.

So yet again Shearer and Labour focus on an issue which is of burning importance to few, those few mainly being on the left. He really is out of touch.

Shearer’s opinions are nothing more than the echo of a fart.

Discussing this issue with some colleagues yesterday, the general consensus was the gcsb is much ado about nothing, and we don’t actually care.

Shearer can promise whatever he wants. But the reality is simple; if he can’t get the numbers to govern, his promises are utterly hollow and meaningless.
