Maybe it’s because I’m a Londoner


My late father was a great fan of Flanagan and Allen; consequently I grew up with their songs. I still remember my Dad and a friend of his singing ‘Underneath the Arches’ when they returned home after a bibulous night out.

However, this song remains in my memory:

Londoners will not yield to murderous thugs. We saw Hitler and his thugs off, we saw off the IRA we will deal to the ISIL murderers and thugs as well.
