Former Labour Cabinet Minister John Tamihere says he can’t understand how Māori took a back seat in the government’s priorities when there are 13 Māori MPs in the government. “The Families package is great. That’s been very good for low-income families. Unusually though in the Budget there’s no plan,” he tells Susie Ferguson.
