RNZ Sunday: Le Quesnoy, the legend and the museum

Two items on Le Quesnoy, see this post as well

First up is Michael Pugsley

November 4 is a special date for a little town in France called Le Quesnoy and for the people who liberated it – the New Zealanders. Military historian Christopher Pugsley explains this history.

Then an item on the new museum

Historian Herb Farrant talks about why a museum in the French town of Le Quesnoy has been such a mission. November 4 marks one of the final commemorative events of World War I – other than Armistice Day itself – and it place in the little town in northern France. Farrant is President of the New Zealand Military Historical Society and has been the driving force behind the creation of a Memorial Museum in Le Quesnoy.
