On the last, slightly overcast, Saturday in November ten Horowhenua based producers opened their doors to the public to showcase their businesses.

They were part of the Third Annual Taste Horowhenua trail, an idea dreamt up about ten years ago by the region’s enthusiastic asparagus grower Geoff Lewis.  

He felt the area was always undervalued as a primary producer because it didn’t have one commodity like grapes, or pipfruit, rather it had a range of things, and if people could travel around meeting all the producers, perceptions would change. MORE AT LINK
