In the guise of complying with the call governments and tech companies can implement internet surveillance, limits to internet access and regulations regarding freedom of expression.

Ardern talks about free speech, but she wants to target hate speech and extremism, but why should we trust her or any politician. Unsurprisingly countries such as France,Canada and the UK signed up. These countries already have restrictions on speech.

Ardern has not ruled out blocking sites such as Facebook in NZ.

We should all be concerned as to what this will morph into.

We have seen already that NZ media are all too ready to censor.
