Joanna Lumley’s Nile: #4 – Rwanda

19/05/2019

Travelling upstream, in the direction of the earliest explorers she journeys along Africa’s ‘life line’, visiting the people who live and work along this famous river today. Travelling through 5 different countries, she crosses some of the most inhospitable landscapes on earth; from deserts where ancient civilizations once ruled to jungles where Victorian explorers underwent unspeakable suffering.

Joanna’s Nile adventure is an epic one but as she nears the end of her 4,000 mile journey in search of the river’s newest source in Rwanda, she discovers that hacking through the jungle to her final goal, is not for the faint hearted.

#4 – Rwanda

Joanna Lumley is now on the final part of her journey and regions the White Nile where she goes to Juba, Sudan. Whilst there, she meets the local beauty queens who are preparing for the upcoming pageant. Afterwards, she takes a ferry to Murchison Falls in Uganda where there is now a large game reserve and travel overland to visit a rhinoceros sanctuary. Plus, Joanna finally comes to the source of the River Nile.
