BBC Newsnight: Brexit: ‘EU could decide no-deal is the right solution’

I came across this clip and in light of recent comments by Boris Johnson and Jeremy Hunt, it seems appropriate to post it now.

Sir Ivan Rogers, former UK ambassador to the EU, speaks for the first time since his unexpected resignation in January 2017.

Sir Ivan Rogers resigned a few months after the 2016 referendum and just before the Brexit negotiations began.

His farewell email to his fellow civil servants was promptly leaked. In it, he urged them to challenge politicians’ ‘ill-founded arguments and muddled thinking’. But who was he talking about specifically – and why did he resign 9 months earlier than he needed to?
