James Shaw in deflection and damage control over Census debacle

Given the widespread concern over the conduct and outcome of the 2018 Census for example the impact on business; plus the scathing report on the Census and the consequent resignation of the Chief Statistician, see preceding post, the Minister,James Shaw has gone full bore into damage control and deflection. One of his more intriguing statements is that cobbled together data is actually better than if the census data had been used. What?

Here is Shaw on RNZ Morning Report yesterday

I find Shaw less than convincing.

Note Shaw’s spinning, and his attempts to trash Bridges. Yet again he personally attacks Bridges. Corin Dann ran up against a stonewall of obfuscation and deflection from Shaw.

Shaw’s default position in recent days seems to be to traduce Simon Bridges at every opportunity – so much for Green values
