PBS: Amanpour & Co: Why Ted Olson’s Conservatism Led Him to Support the DREAMers and Gay Marriage

March 10, 2020

Ted Olson is the former U.S. Solicitor General who fought high-profile cases like Bush v. Gore, the Supreme Court case that determined the 2000 presidential outcome. He also fought Hollingsworth v. Perry, the case that overturned California’s ban on same-sex marriages in 2013. Now Olson is turning his attention to the fight for America’s DREAMers, the young DACA recipients under fire from the Trump administration. He tells Walter Isaacson about the value of listening to the other side in these divisive times. Originally aired on March 10, 2020..
