While the debate about managing the pandemic has grown more rancorous in recent days as death tolls have climbed and states have lamented the unresponsiveness of the federal government, while on Capitol Hill the name calling has resumed, the virus is immune to politics. There is a right way and wrong way to manage a pandemic and the resulting economic and social crises it triggers.
