Glenn Kirschner: Trump Tells Court he has “Absolute Immunity” for Insurrection; Republicans Try to Prevent 1/6 Probe

A lawyer for Donald Trump told a federal judge this week that he is beyond the jurisdiction of the court because he has “absolute immunity” for anything he did on January 6. Unfortunately for Trump, claims of “absolute immunity” have repeatedly been rejected by federal courts. Here is an overview of those cases rejecting presidential claims of absolute immunity.
