Since being appointed as Special Counsel just 24 days ago, Jack Smith has dramatically accelerated the criminal investigation into Donald Trump. Not only did he file a direct, blunt pleading in the special master case stating that Trump’s legal team was “incorrect” in its representations to the court, but, in recent days Smith’s team has put before the grand jury three of Trump’s White House aides, two former White House lawyers, Trump adviser Steven Miller, and has subpoenaed information from state legislators and Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger. This ramping up of the criminal probe spells accelerating problems for Trump.
