Part 10 of the “Normandy 1944” Series Were there any African American troops who landed at Omaha or Utah Beach on D-Day? You never see them depicted in any movies on the subject. It turns out that there was in the form of the 320th Barrage Balloon Battalion. These men provided a valuable service on D-Day that did much to secure the beachhead for the Allies. We also touch on the story of one African American medic whose actions on June 6th very well should have earned him the Medal of Honor. Much to learn in this one!
