December 13, 2021
This episode was produced in partnership with The Gettysburg Museum of History. See how you can support history education & artifact preservation by visiting their website & store at https://www.gettysburgmuseumofhistory…
Part 8 of the “Normandy 1944” Series On June 6, 1944, the Easy sector of Omaha Beach was attacked by soldiers of the 1st Infantry Division, otherwise known as the “Big Red One”. In the years since the invasion, the local French have continued to find relics from vehicles and gear left behind. One of those locals has dedicated himself to preserving the memory of the men who fought on Omaha Beach at the Big Red One Museum. This is an amazing place that has some INSANE artifacts that you won’t believe. Definitely one to watch until the end!
