Here is a complete Sunset Serenade broadcast from 22/11/1941. These broadcasts were a series of shows, about 1 hour long, broadcast from August 1941 until January 1942. They were Glenn’s idea to boost morale in the Armed forces who were increasing in size and then,of course, at war. The music is fantastic and as all the intros and chat between songs is there, it gives a real sense of being there. I hope all you Miller fans will enjoy.

On January 3, 1942 Glenn Miller and his Orchestra broadcast a Saturday afternoon radio program (5 PM EST) on the NBC Blue Network. According to John Flower’s book “Moonlight Serenade” the band performed the following: Moonlight Serenade, I Got Rhythm, Elmer’s Tune, It’s Great to Be an American, Chattanooga Choo Choo, Papa Niccolini, Ev’rything I Own, Boulder Buff, Happy in Love and Tschaikowsky’s Piano Concerto. (Please note: the first six songs are original to the broadcast of 1/3/42. Songs 6 to 10 and the closing theme were added from other live programs to recreate the original content of the program). For 75 years old the sound quality is good but not perfect in some spots.
