Rep. Adam Schiff, the chair of the House Intelligence Committee, said in a public impeachment hearing on Nov. 19 that President Donald Trump “put his own personal and political interests above those of the nation.” in his dealings with Ukraine. Schiff spoke as part of the third day of public hearings, which on Tuesday, featured Alexander Vindman, an Army officer who works for the National Security Council, and Jennifer Williams, an aide to Vice President Mike Pence. Vindman and Williams both listened in on a July phone call in which Trump asked the president of Ukraine to investigate former vice president and 2020 presidential candidate Joe Biden and his son, Hunter.
